Whilst I was off volunteering this morning a neighbour, who is moving soon, dropped off some box files of figures surplus to his needs for me. He is a fellow wargamer. This was all unexpected so l opened the boxes with mounting expectations. Here they are, comments please re gaming system they are based for etc. I am out of my comfort zone-
First box WW2 ships ? Scale ? Rules? Plus lots of dice…Box number two- 28mm American infantry and tanks etc.
There were also 1/200 scale ? Shermans and infantry.
Box three 1/300 scale vehicles and infantry etc based on square bases.
The bases close up and beside a cm ruler for scale. Rules?
Google suggests that Navwar use a number of N5217 for the IJNS Kaiyo in 1/3000 scale. Sadly that's as much help as I can offer
ReplyDeleteIf they don't take up too much room, and you think you will do something with them some time, then keep them. I'd certainly keep the dice! You can't have too many dice, and you can't have too many different COLOURS of dice.
ReplyDeleteOne criterion that might be worth thinking about, depending upon your ... erm ... self discipline: to do anything with them, would you have to add something, and how much something? Would you want to/ can you afford to? Decisions, decisions...
Cheers,
Ion
Too bad my neighbor is not a gamer, he is a drunkard and only leaves me a variety of empties
ReplyDeleteThe Shermans and Infantry in 1/200 scale, the vehicles are almost definitely the Axis and Allies Miniatures game from about 10 years ago, I have a box of that stuff around somewhere. But the vehicles and miniatures came factory painted. The vehicles were good but the figures did look kinda crappy. Realistically they are like 1/200 scale because I remember them being small "15mm" I'm still a little nostalgic for it though because it's part of how I got into more serious wargaming. I don't think they make it anymore but I'm sure you can find it on eBay. The figures are probably Plastic Soldier Company Late War US Army Infantry. Although it could be Marines, hard to tell. Their kits are 1/144 scale.
ReplyDeleteThat's about all I got for you, enjoy the new stuff!

Ooh! all those dice , you can never have enough dice !
ReplyDeleteShips are 1/3000 Navwar WW2, small based figures and vehicles are 1/285 GHQ, other small vehicles look like Skytrex 1/200 [old range but still available but mostly superseded bu 10/12mm]
ReplyDeleteQuite a nice dilemma to have, I'm sure you will think of interesting uses for at least some of them, and perhaps pass on the rest to good homes!
