Games

 As the nights draw in so the board games come out. Really enjoyed this one , we hadn’t played it for ages. A cooperative game of escape from the desert. Great fun but we didn’t make it. I am looking for suggestions for new games that might have gone unnoticed by me, recommendations welcome.

    I've started playing 'Undaunted Normandy' , quick to set up and play and with lots of tactical choices .

    We've been playing Flamme Rouge a bicycle racing game. Games last about 30 minuets. For us not much talking during the game but a very animated discussion about strategy and card draw as we shuffle and set up the next race.

    I have enjoyed Undaunted:North Africa as a fairly quick skirmish game.

    Village Green is a good, quite simple card game.

    Mint Works is excellent and has been reissued.

    I have "The Crew" which is a cooperative trick taking game based on missions in space but haven't had a chance to play it yet.

    My boardgames group have been playing a lot of Architects of the West Kingdom which is a worker placement game with lots of elements and different ways of approaching the game...

    Trailer Park Wars... and get it with an extra bag of pink flamingoes.

    Trust me, Alan. You and the girls will get a big laugh out of it.

    You can get it from Amazon. I have it. My group loves it.

    There are so many it's hard to give recommendations, but I'll mention a few:
    Wingspan (about birds, with some great art)
    I second Architects of the West Kingdom (and other Garphill/Shem Philips games)
    I also like Above and Below, Near and Far, and Islebound, all by Ryan Laukat and Red Raven Games
    Canvas (a card game about making paintings)

    The card game "Exploding Kittens". Fabulous fun but requires devious strategy.

      For ailurophiles I'd also suggest Isle of Cats and Crazy Cat Lady. No kittens harmed. ha ha
