Botanics

On Thursday morning prior to my weekly class on “Georgian Scotland “ l got off the bus early , walked through Stockbridge” and went to the Botanic Gardens. It was warm but overcast. I had been for ages and it was great to be back. A big project is currently going on-

It means part of the gardens are walled off and the glasshouses closed. Nevertheless the gardens are still full of wonders and beauty and well worth a visit. A few photos-

They have removed the plants that formed the maze and have started again.

Obligatory selfie, not the best photo of the day!

Lovely quiet areas of calm and quiet just crying out to be occupied…
The black wall can be seen in the background blocking the greenhouse area off.

  2. My most favourite uncle (Uncle Bob) was head gardener at the Botanics. There wasn't a thing about orchids that he didn't know.

    Sadly gone now.
