Oophs they did it again or sign of the times…

The Light Railway recently sent off for some signage. The men from the station look on confused-

They are confused as to why the names of two stations are on one sign!

Half an hour , some vigorous cutting and a strong cup of tea later they have separated the signs.

Here they are , four station signs looking a bit battered but perfectly serviceable with a little lick of paint.

( meanwhile in the real world. I tried to get signs made last year and they misspelled them, l said nothing. This year l sent off for some more signs and this time the spelling was correct but they put two station names in each sign , again I have said nothing. So l decided to use the mistake as part of the story, hence the above.)

  1. Whoops! That’s a Britney Spears. How irritating. Anyway I’m sure a little plastikard, paint and glue can put this right.

    1. That’s what I thought re mending too. Can’t be bothered with the fuss returning would cause and be.

  2. Anyway delighted to see the Garden Railway emerging in Spring. Maybe the John Ruddle article mention of his Garden Railway was fresh inspiration?
Inspiring viewing beyond the old Titfield Thunderbolt Railway film, this short episode of Postman Pat where they rediscover the old Greendale Railway and the Greendale Rocket engine - beautifully modelled in a Trumpton Chigley kind of way

  3. You, sir, are obviously from a more stoic generation, who just accept the odd imperfection. Large swathes of the population would be howling their indignation from the rooftops over this shoddy service!

  4. I always return faulty goods whether it's a kettle or a wargame figure. I expect a proper job when I've paid good money for it.
