Pre painted recruits for Army Star Spangled

These  pre painted 54mm figures arrived this morning. They were cheaper to buy than castings and I am very pleased with them. There are twenty of them and they will mix in well with the figures I was working on last week.

They are ready to invade Maple Leaf Country or defend against an invasion from there...
I can quite remember the make but they are splendid toy soldiers and a great addition to my forces.

  1. Do they represent Australians or guides of some kind? It's the hat.

  3. The forces are building up south of the border. Government House in Maple Leaf Country must strengthen the dominion's defences.

    1. Plans are afoot to strengthen the defences unless the Maple Leaf Country politicians decide to strike first...

  8. The US Cavalryman Osprey we have been chatting about by email is perfect for these figures - the grown up version of AIRFIX WW1 American Infantry or the Jacklex Mexico expedition if you want to fight a war on two fronts.
There were bicycle mounted versions too https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicycle_infantry

    1. I have a print in the Elting book of the first American bicycle troops and good photos of them in a book about military cycling. I recall playing with some splendid old bicycle troops in the Little Wars Centenary games which I borrowed as my Swiss hadn’t arrived in time by post.
