Some more 1790 figures from North Tradgardland. They are the Trollsdalregiment of Foot. Their name refers to where they are recruited from namely the Troll Valley area of North Tradgardland. They carry a North Tradgardland colour as well as the Ducal colour. Unlike most Tradgardland units they are regulars who are ready to defend their border against invaders at a moments notice. The are commanded by Colonel Ubesluttsom and Captain Usikker. Although well trained the unit is led by less than professional officers whose vacillations unsettle the men somewhat. Here are some photos of the regiment and the uniform plate that inspired the colour scheme.
Hopefully a game very soon…
As a Norwegian I like reading about your troops. The commander's name doesn't sound like someone you wants to go to combat with.ReplyDelete
I think I have that uniform-booklet as well, as it looks familiar. In the northern part of the city I live in; Moss there is an area thats actually named Trolldalen.
Good to have your comments here. I agree regarding the commanders and am fascinated to hear of Trolldalen. I have a number of these Norwegian army museum booklets which are always full of fascinating details and information. I like the way they have a summary in English too.Delete
Lovely looking regiment, very nice indeed.ReplyDelete
Thank you , l am looking forward to seeing them in action…Delete
A fine looking regiment - and good to see one of the flags in action. :-)ReplyDelete
Thank you. Your flags always enhance the look of a unit and l venture to say they fight better on the table as a result. :)ReplyDelete
