A good read

I picked up this book to read recently and am thoroughly enjoying it. I would recommend it.
It is well written and the narrative fairly races along. Much of it was new to me in terms of history. Worth a read definitely.

  1. Hi Alan- My last book purchase was Donald Featherstone's 'WAR GAMES'. I've managed to read parts of it that could help me with writing some Games Rules- I've yet to read the book entirely as I'm not much a reader of books these days. Though I do enjoy reading from the Net. Enjoy your Colin Smith book. Cheers. KEV.

  5. Early War Miniatures have recently released a Vichy French range in 20mm including a colonial range for Siam Indochina, Madagascar and Syria. ‎https://earlywarminiatures.com

A few years ago a British Army soldier's pocket diary came up for sale online about the battle for / invasion of Madagascar (by the British to oust the French Vichy colonials forces) but unfortunately its price went above my means.

    1. First paragraph filled with temptation! Interesting item, How much did it eventually go for?

  6. Sometimes these unusual diaries go for over a hundred pounds etc. Hopefully it ends up in a museum, printed or public domain.
