Making plans for Nigel
This is Nigel. He is to be a central character in forthcoming games. I am looking for interesting suggestions for uniforms ( the more unusual, quirky and real the better) for me to paint him in. All ideas most welcome...
Someone beat me to the Geek points but not so many people know that Andy Partridge of XTC collects toy soldiers and designed the Irregular 42mm Deutsche Hommage figures: https://manoftinblog.wordpress.com/2018/12/12/man-of-tin-advent-calendar-day-12-the-xtc-of-toy-soldiers-by-andy-partridge/
If you make him a Staff Officer, he's only going to have to play leapfrog... I'd say something along the lines of the Army Service Corps... Blue and white and waiting for the wagon.
Several options 1. Look through Preben Kannik Military Uniforms of the World - and the bizarrely ceremonial Captain Alberto Bertorelli type bemedalled dress uniforms that royal families around the world get to wear as armour plating / body armour
2. Look at others paint conversions in your job lots box https://manoftinblog.wordpress.com/2020/08/11/britains-deetail-conversions-guards/
3. Make him a her - it's FEMbuary - just ask Julian Spilsbury with his slight obsession with German princess colonels of the regiment https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=4294960450520886&id=100000209211372
XTC yes!!!
ReplyDeleteBest Regards,
Stokes
Charcoal or light blue trousers, white tunic, and light crimson facings/turnbacks? With plenty of gold lace where appropriate.

Most fetching indeed!
DeleteGreat figure. I like his rosy cheeks
ReplyDeleteQuite agree on both fronts.

I am tending towards some option of a less glamorous nature perhaps , after all we only want what’s best for him :)
DeleteI think a cross between the Swiss Guard (striped trousers); Greek Evzones (white top) and Indian Border Force helmet (and a fan on the side)
ReplyDeleteMost stylish!
